This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets the rules for using iGig. It forms part of the Terms of Service. Breaching it may lead to content removal, suspension, or account closure, and—where applicable—forfeiture of funds to the extent permitted by law and referral to authorities.

1. Prohibited content & conduct

You must not post, offer, request, or transmit content or services that:

  • are illegal under Kenyan law or facilitate illegal activity;
  • are fraudulent, deceptive, or misrepresent identity, qualifications, or affiliation;
  • infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
  • are hateful, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or incite violence;
  • are sexually explicit, exploit minors, or involve human trafficking;
  • involve weapons, controlled substances, counterfeit goods, or stolen data;
  • contain malware, phishing, or attempts to compromise security;
  • are spam, deceptive SEO, fake reviews, or manipulate ratings.

2. Marketplace integrity

You must not:

  • arrange payment off-platform to avoid fees, or solicit others to do so;
  • create duplicate or fake accounts, or evade suspension;
  • scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data, or use bots without permission;
  • interfere with platform operation, fees, payments, or other users;
  • post another user's personal data without a lawful basis.

3. Academic/credential, financial & regulated work

Services that facilitate cheating, forgery, unlicensed regulated activity (e.g. legal, medical, or financial advice without authorisation), or evasion of law are prohibited.

4. Communications & data

Use Platform messaging in good faith. Do not send unsolicited bulk messages. Handle any personal data you receive through the Platform in line with the Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

5. Reporting & enforcement

Report violations via hello@igig.co.ke or in-Platform tools. We may investigate, remove content, suspend or close accounts, withhold funds pending review of suspected fraud, and cooperate with law enforcement. We apply enforcement reasonably and, where practical and lawful, give notice.

6. Changes

We may update this AUP; the current version is always available on the Platform.
